What qualities do you look for in remote hires?

Agapic strives to add team members that are aligned with our values, and that are intrinsically motivated to contribute to Agapic’s mission and purpose.

In addition, qualities that we consider important to a remote workplace are listed below.

  1. Proven ability to be a manager of one
  2. Proven ability to work asynchronously
  3. Appreciation for self-learning and self-service
  4. Appreciation for documentation

Great remote workers are managers of one. You’re not going to have someone expecting you at the office. You’re not going to have hour-to-hour handholding. You have to be able to get work done independently and manage yourself.

Another element we consider is communication. Agapic is an asynchronous company. Much of what we do is communicated through text. Unlike an in-office setting, where verbal communication is the default, our team members must be comfortable communicating information via text.
